Our Work Processes

  • Marking

As a standard fabrication process, fabricator refer the latest manufacturing drawing (as per issued DIN) and highlight the requirements of materials. According to BOM (Bill of materials) marking of each part/Components to be carryout on raw materials. Once the marking done as per manufacturing drawing, inspection of the marked parts to be carried out.

  • Cutting

Once the Inspection of the marking plates/Beams/Channels, etc. done, cutting of parts to be carried out. Cutting of the parts to be done with various process like CNC Gas cutting, Plasma cutting, Water jet cutting or Manual gas cutting with Pug machine or Manual torch can be use. Inspection of cut parts to be done with QC inspector.

  • Grinding

Once the Cutting and Inspection of cut parts done, grinding of the sharp/ cut edge to be perform to remove sharp edges and removal of cutting allowances.

  • Bending / Forming

This process involves using force to change a flat sheet metal into a 3D part without adding or subtracting material. Punches and dies can be used to control the forming as machines control the direction and amount of force that is applied.

  • Machining

Another process frequently used with metal fabrication; machining involves the removal of material from a solid block to create a desired shape. Most fabrication shops have machining capabilities including the use of lathes, mills, drills and other machining tools. Solid items like bolts, screws and nuts are made through machining.

  • Drilling / Punching

Drilling / Punching involves using a Drill or Press to create holes in metals. The finished product created by drilling / punching could be an item with fastening holes punched out or the pieces of metal that are punched out themselves, known as blanks.

Where punching creates a hole in the metal, stamping leaves an indentation that can allow shapes, letters or images to be imprinted into the workpiece. Operated hydraulically or mechanically, many stamping machines can also cast, cut, punch and shape metal sheets.

  • Fit-up / Assembly

Being the main process used by steel fabricators, Fit-up / Assembly is the crucial process of all fabrication jobs. Whether it is machined parts, raw materials components, cast components, based on engineering drawings, a skilled Fitter using his experience to fabricate a unique assembly.

  • Welding

Being the main process used by steel fabricators, welding is part of many fabrication jobs. Whether it is joining formed and machined parts based on engineering drawings, or a highly skilled welder using experience to fabricate a unique part, welding will need to take account of the material and the desired finish, avoiding problems like warping or burn through.

  • Weld visual Inspection

After completion of the welding, visual inspection is the crucial process prior to release for final dimension. During the visual inspection all the welding defects like Under cut, Porosity, Slag, Pin holes, Valley etc. point to be observe.

  • Final Inspection / FD

This dimensional report details the inspection of a part/assembly/job/equipment against its drawing specifications. It lists of dimensions and materials with their drawing specifications, actual measured values, deviations from specifications, and whether each dimension was within tolerance and thus acceptable.

  • Blasting & Painting

This process outlines requirements for personnel qualifications, receiving and handling coating materials, surface preparation including blast cleaning equipment and abrasives, preparation and application of coating materials, inspection and testing, repair of defects, and health and safety. The process is intended to ensure coatings are applied according to project specifications, manufacturer recommendations, and relevant standards to protect steel structures from the corrosion.

Any surface that has to be blasted shall be removed of all the contaminants such as oil, greases, chemical or soils shall be removed prior to blasting by the use of process. During cleaning, all the welded areas and attachments shall be given special attention to ensure all welding flux and spatter is removed by the use of files scrapers, chipping hammer, power or hand brushes or grinder fitted with flexible grinding discs.

  • Dispatch

The procedure for dispatch of outgoing deliveries and material transfers from RNS Fabricators. It details the steps for receiving delivery receipts or material transfer reports, inspecting loaded trucks and items, recording inspection results, and preparing summary reports on dispatch checking and discrepancies. Key responsibilities include the verifying items, quantities, and weights; and the production manager reviewing reports and release to procced for making dispatch invoice as per PO (Dispatch detail).
